Breves

I slept terribly last night and of course, woke up in the worst mood I could possibly. I ended up getting out of bed at least an hour and a half earlier than I usually do and got ready to came to work. Today also happens to bring the ugliest morning I've ever witnessed. Visibility is probably less than half a mile. So, perhaps maybe it will help my mood to recount some of the most memorable accounts of the past month and a half.

Graduation
Yes, I graduated RAD Self Defense. I was hoping to get my video of simulation, in which I was "attacked" during 3 different scenarios: at an ATM machine where I was retrieving $1,000, as I was putting my shopping bags in my trunk, and while walking down frat row. I was impressed with my acquired abilities.

Back To School
As always, every end brings with it a beginning, and with my RAD Graduation came a new goal. After conversations with my Supply Chain Management Professor I've decided to say goodbye to my Masters of Engineering Management and hello to MBA. Why? It is a more recognized degree and it will give me more flexibility in terms of potential jobs for the future. I'm considering going back to school full-time somewhere other than St. Louis. Perhaps somewhere a lot warmer.

Every morning is an exercise of motivation
This is the time of the year when I start questioning my real motivations to be here. After spending one wonderful week with my friends and family in the Island of Enchantment where everything is green and warm I come back to a dark place where trees don't have leaves and every day gets colder. Seriously, my feet never get warm and with the Reynold's getting worse every winter, I will probably loose a limb before I turn 25.

Falling
And of course, the frigid weather brings with it ice. Lots of ice. I had the most dramatic fall the other day. I went running up a set of stairs and slipped only to roll down them again. I took me a few seconds to inventory my body parts and confirm that I was in fact still complete and still alive.

Curiosity killed the cat
Yet, after watching the reaction videos to 2 girls 1 cup I thought it would be really cool to watch it. After all, how bad could it possibly be. If you know what I do for a living (it involves mice and pigeons and centrifuges and fixatives) you know that I'm used to a lot. Yet this 2 girls 1 cup video is the video I should have never watched. And for posterity, Jose and Ryan recorded my reaction and posted it on facebook. To top it all with a nice cherry, I stepped on poop right after watching the video and didn't notice until I took off my shoes in my bedroom after walking around my living room and kitchen. Nasty.

How about pepper spray
When they are not talking about war in Iraq or school shootings, Miss Puerto Rico Universe makes the headlines because someone allegedly put pepper spray or some over yellowish substance on her belongings that caused some type of allergic reaction for her during the pageant competition in PR. From Ellen to the Today Show she was everywhere in day time and primetime TV. That there was no trace of pepper spray in the makeup or clothes, that she wants to get a lie detection test... I have to say, all this is pretty embarrassing. For all that Puerto Rico has to offer, I wish it made National and International news for something more than beauty pageant drama and animal cruelty.

Photo Show
To end with a happy note, here are the pictures of my pictures at the photo exhibit. It was a great time and a fun experience. I'm still not so sure what makes a good photograph, but I'm glad I took this class.
