What's going on in my life...

I've been wanting to write for a while... here it goes...

Life is good. After graduation, I didn't have a job... but I did have a couple of interviews pending. One here in St. Louis at the Medical School, one in Puerto Rico. So I interviewed here and then went home for about 10 days. The interview here went really well, I'm not going to waste my time talking about the PR interview... but the truth is that the time I spent there was amazing. The best time I've had at home in a while. Ryan met up with me there and I showed him the best of the island and we had a great time together. I came back, had a second interview at the Medical School and got the job. More than 4 months later I'm happy and satisfied with my current job and I stil haven't heard from that company in PR. I love my job, I can take it wherever I want, it's flexible... I'm simply where I wanted to be and that's my greatest acomplishment yet.

So I'm settling down in St. Louis. Got an apartment in Dogtown. Great location. I can walk to the restaurants, bike to forest park and the zoo, 5 minutes from work, no traffic, very cheap rent, 1 bedroom and very cozy... and across the street from Ryan. I'm decorating the apartment with puzzles... I still need some furniture but I'm doing great. I bought a car... a 2006 Chevy Aveo in Silver. It's small and roomy at the same time, very economic, a tank of gas last almost 3 weeks!!!

So yeah, I'm on my way to financial independence and security and all that crap we talked back then when I took personal finance a year ago... I still don't have a savings account and I'm not investing anything... but all I've mention: the apartment, the furniture, the car.. I bought with my own money... I'm paying everything with the money I'm making... I hope that by November or December I'll be done with all the major buys and start saving.

Other than that, I've been getting used to a very nice rutine... I come to work around 9am, leave at 5pm... cook dinner, go to the gym, and alternate between an occasional symposium meeting, cardinal's games, watching tv shows (lost, ugly betty), girls nights, engineering mentorship, and RCIA.... that's what I do and I love it.. I feel like I have the ideal life of a 20-something bachelorette.

There was a trip to Washington DC at the begining of the months... with its ups and downs it was pretty cool... meeting the resident comissioner and hanging out VIP with a Grammy Nominated band... i don't have to say anything else...

Ryan is amazing. And having him by my side all this time has made thing so much better and created beautiful memories.

So everything in my little bubble is as good as it can be. But I would always appreciate your prayers for my family's health... specially my grandma.

Hasta la proxima
